The first half of my spring break was spent in Houston, Texas visiting Aldine school district where I want to student teach. I took some pictures with my digital camera but most of the pictures I took was on this Poketo White Slim Angel Wide-Angle Camera.
I got it for Christmas and I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but as you can see it takes high exposure pictures with a wide angle lens. The down-side (or up-side depending on how you look at it) is it is a 35mm camera so I have to wait for the film to be developed. So more on that to come.
Anyway, incredible experience. The schools were awesome, the teachers were beyond helpful and the region was beautiful. I'm applying to student teach in Brazil and Texas and originally Brazil was my first choice, but Houston may have taken the cake.
And when I got home I did some much-needed crafting.
before
after
I finally found some white Feds (fake Keds) at Walmart for $5, and using some Rit Wine colored dye, I created these puppies. Lace ribbon is just by the yard from Walmart, which would have been about 70 cents if I had not stole it. In my defense Walmart's fabric department sucks and I could not find anyone to help me cut the lace so I just cut it myself and left.
Then I worked on door decs because it was about 70 degrees on my last day at home.
I'm a starving artist.
This is how they turned out.
As a side not, I free-handed the apple drawing, so be impressed.
And finally, my bulletin board which is about service opportunities on campus.
